The British Paragliding Open 2016 is a Cross Country Paragliding Competition.

The event is being held at Gemona, Italy by xTc Paragliding, on behalf of the British Competitions Panel in order to find the British Champion for 2016

It all starts on 28th May 2016!

The competition will have a maximum capacity of 140 pilots and be a FAI cat2 event and run on behalf of the BHPA Paragliding Competitions Panel.

Registration Open

Registration for the British Paragliding Open has now started.

The venue for 2016 is Gemona, Italy.

Bordering the Julian Alps and Dolomites, the terrain has an interesting mix of flatlands and mountains for a great mix of tasks to suit all weather.



This years event is being organised by Brett Janaway, a local pilot whom has organised several events in the past, better known for organising the GIN Wide Open.

Brett and his team have worked at this venue before and promise to deliver a stunning competition, working closely with the local club, Volo Libero Friuli and the club president, Luigi Seravalli.

The British Paragliding Open has the following aspects:

Registration Format

Registration Opens - 1st January 2016

Places will be filled according to the first pilots to pay (subject to approval of entry first). Once all places are allocated, pilots will be offered places from the waiting list according first to British nationality, and thereafter according to WPRS ranking, highest first.
